How is your Gut Health?

How healthy is your gut?

Do you know what's going on in your gut?
Do you know if your gut is healthy?
Hell, do you even know what your gut is?

Admittedly I am still a novice when it comes to this topic but I still want to shed some light on this topic because I am beginning to learn how truly important this is to the human body.

Gut Microbiome

Bacteria, viruses, fungi and other microscopic living things are referred to as microorganisms, or microbes, for short.

Trillions of these microbes exist mainly inside your intestines and on your skin.

Most of the microbes in your intestines are found in a "pocket" of your large intestine called the cecum, and they are referred to as the gut microbiome.

Signs of an unhealthy gut
1. Upset stomach
2. A high-sugar diet.
3. Unintentional weight changes
4. Sleep disturbances or constant fatigue
5. Skin irritation
6. Autoimmune conditions
7. Food intolerances

Things you can do to improve your gut
1. Lower your stress levels
2. Get enough sleep
3. Eat slowly
4. Stay hydrated
5. Take a prebiotic or probiotic
6. Check for food intolerances
7. Change your diet

Your gut microbiome is made up of trillions of bacteria, fungi and other microbes.

The gut microbiome plays a very important role in your health by helping control digestion and benefiting your immune system and many other aspects of health.

An imbalance of unhealthy and healthy microbes in the intestines may contribute to weight gain, high blood sugar, high cholesterol ,auto-immune diseases and other disorders.

To help support the growth of healthy microbes in your gut, eat a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fermented foods.

Salute to your success
