Crunches alone, don't equal a flat stomach

How can I lose belly fat?

So many people are looking to flatten their stomach and pull their waist line in however, what they are failing to realize is that there is much more to trimming the waistline than simply doing a bunch of crunches.

The main issue ts that you have a certain amount of body fat covering your ab muscles. And if that's the case then you have a certain amount of body fat you are carrying overall.

You  likely have a rounder face, meaty hands and feet, softer or mildly defined arms as well as some back fat and love handles. But none of that comes to mind because your stomach is the most noticeable of all of that.

The point i'm getting at, is that you have fat all over your body that needs to be reduced and not simply in your stomach. Think about keeping body fat every where else and only losing your stomach, think about how strange that would look...

Simply put, your body cannot achieve that look, your body can't only lose fat in one place of your body and retain it everywhere else. Now what you may notice is that you lose fat quicker in some places than others.

And the simple explanation is that you have less fat cells in that particular area of your body. Wherever you gain fat first simply means that's where you have the densest population of fat cells. And there are body types that hold fat in different places. Folks aren't all built the same and that's why some people hold fat differently.

Ultimately in order to reduce fat you have to burn more calories than you consume. However, there are 2 things that people overlook in that dynamic

1. Your body requires a certain amount of calories to function so you can't starve yourself.
2, The quality of the calories DO matter especially if you generally have a hard time losing weight then you likely need to cut grains and starch dramatically and be mindful of your fruit intake.

The bottom line is this, in order to flatten your stomach you have to target fat loss as a whole, not simply do stomach exercises, that's not gonna get it.
